VIDEO: Football Championship to be Held in Armenia with Up to 20 Matches in Yerevan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed enthusiasm over FIFA's important decision to host the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Armenia and Georgia. During a government session, he stated, “And now, as they say, let’s get to work. As planned, a working group needs to be formed under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.”
Pashinyan highlighted the need to discuss with FIFA and Georgia whether the organizing committee will be joint or separate.
Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan mentioned that they anticipate around 100,000 fans, with up to 20 matches taking place in Yerevan, while Vanadzor and Ijevan would host a total of 10 matches.
