China Demands Normal Navigation in Hormuz Strait from the US
The Chinese Foreign Ministry is urging the restoration of normal navigation in the Hormuz Strait and criticizing the blockade imposed by the United States. The official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gao Feng, stated that Beijing demands the resumption of regular navigation in the Hormuz Strait. He described the blockade implemented by the United States as an irresponsible action.
According to the diplomat, at a time when the involved parties have already reached an agreement for a temporary ceasefire, Washington's increase of military forces and targeted blockade will only exacerbate disagreements and heighten tensions. During a press briefing, Gao emphasized that China calls on all parties to strictly adhere to the agreements reached regarding the ceasefire.
He noted that it is necessary to focus on peaceful negotiations and dialogue in order to restore normal navigation in the Strait as quickly as possible. The Chinese diplomat added that US actions in the Hormuz Strait are dangerous and irresponsible.
