VIDEO: Iran Strikes Major Energy Facilities in Saudi Arabia
Iran has launched a strike using missiles and drones against the oil and chemical complex in the city of Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia, resulting in a significant fire breaking out in the industrial zone. This has been reported by the Tasnim agency.
The Al-Jubail industrial area covers more than a thousand square kilometers and provides over 7% of the country's gross domestic product. It hosts major petrochemical, oil refining, and metallurgical enterprises, as well as infrastructure that supports international supplies.
The production in the area is estimated to account for 6-8% of global petrochemical output, making the city one of the strategic industrial centers in the region.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense has announced that the country's air defense systems intercepted seven ballistic missiles launched in an easterly direction. A representative of the ministry noted that debris fell near energy facilities, and damage assessment is ongoing.
