Zareh Sinanyan on the Flow of People from Iran to Armenia
Given the wartime situation in Iran, there is no significant flow of Iranian Armenians coming to Armenia. This statement was made by the Chief Commissioner of the Office of Diaspora Affairs of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.
He noted that there are no specific numerical data available on how many Iranian Armenians have come to Armenia in recent days.
“However, there is no extraordinary flow of Iranian Armenians to Armenia that differs from previous periods. As such, there is no movement of Iranian Armenians towards Armenia,” said Sinanyan.
He assured that they are constantly trying to stay in touch with the Armenian community in Iran, and sometimes they manage to establish communication.
“People are trying to stay away from dangerous areas; they are at home and hope that all of this will end soon,” noted Sinanyan.
According to him, there are unconfirmed reports about two lightly injured Iranian Armenians.
“There were talks about two Iranian Armenians who sustained light injuries, but it is very difficult to verify all of this,” Sinanyan emphasized.
