Hamas Calls on Iran to Halt Attacks on Gulf Neighboring Countries
The Palestinian movement Hamas has called on Iran to cease attacks on neighboring Gulf countries. In a statement quoted by Al Jazeera, Hamas recognizes Tehran's right to self-defense in its conflict against the United States and Israel, but simultaneously urges an end to any new conflicts in the Middle East.
“Recognizing the right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to aggression by all available means in accordance with international norms and laws, the movement calls on its brothers in Iran to refrain from attacking neighboring countries,” the statement reads.
The Palestinian group believes that countries in the region should “cooperate with one another to stop aggression and maintain bonds of fraternity.”
