India Urges Its Citizens in Iran to Leave the Country Immediately
Indians in Iran have been advised to leave the country due to potential US strikes in the coming days. In its latest warning, the Indian Embassy has urged citizens to "leave Iran using available means of transport, including commercial flights." This instruction pertains to all Indians in Iran, including students, pilgrims, businesspersons, and tourists.
"The advisory dated January 14, 2026, reiterates that all citizens of India and persons of Indian origin (PIO) should exercise appropriate caution, avoid places of protests or demonstrations, remain in contact with the Indian Embassy in Iran, and follow local media for any developments," the advisory states.
Indians in Iran have also been advised to carry their travel and immigration documents, including passports and identification papers. They are urged to contact the Indian Embassy for any assistance.
