US Military Strikes ISIS Group in Nigeria: Trump
US President Donald Trump has announced that the American military, under his orders, has carried out strikes against the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group operating in northwestern Nigeria. Trump referred to the jihadists as "the terrorist underclass" and stated that they have "attacked and brutally killed predominantly innocent Christians in a way that has not happened for years, even centuries."
"I had previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the killings of Christians, they would have to pay a heavy price, and that has happened," wrote the US President. "The Department of War (as Trump refers to the Pentagon) has delivered numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States can."
"God bless our troops and everyone, Merry Christmas, including the slain terrorists, whose numbers will increase significantly if they do not stop killing Christians," concluded Trump.
The US President did not specify which targets were hit. The US Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced on social media that the strikes were carried out "at the request of the Nigerian authorities." According to AFRICOM, the strikes resulted in the deaths of "numerous ISIS terrorists."
