Servicemen and Their Parents Should Approach Understandingly: Papikyan on Service Duration Reduction
I do not agree with the notion that there is anything unfair. There is no injustice because the law will come into effect and will immediately apply to the draft. This was stated by the Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan in the National Assembly, responding to a question about whether it is unfair that those drafted after January 1st and those already six months into service will be discharged together.
“I believe it is very fair. It might have contained some injustice had we adopted the law on June 1st. Our colleagues, dear soldiers, and their parents, whose children are in service, should approach this understandingly because this pertains to future servicemen, including their relatives,” emphasized Defense Minister Suren Papikyan.
