Romanos Petrosyan Receives a Monthly Salary Exceeding 5 Million Drams: 'Hraparak'
Romanos Petrosyan, who was appointed as the temporary manager of HEC on July 18, is reportedly receiving a salary of approximately 5.2 million drams. The obligation to pay Romanos Petrosyan such a high salary has been placed on the shoulders of the owner of HEC, Samvel Karaptyan, by a decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, according to 'Hraparak' newspaper.
For comparison, when serving as the head of the State Supervision Service, Romanos earned a monthly salary of 790,000 drams. Prior to joining HEC, he announced that he was going there for the sake of the Republic of Armenia, supposedly to restore it, leading many to believe that this would be an altruistic endeavor for the benefit of the state. However, every day it seems increasingly clear that Nikol Pashinyan's actual intent was to seize HEC from its owner, while Romanos Petrosyan harbored a desire for a substantial salary.
The large entity is being rapidly transformed into a ruling party stronghold ahead of the elections. The authorities have decided to keep Samvel Karaptyan in prison while providing high-paying jobs for a large group of ruling party members on his account, utilizing the potential of approximately 7,000 HEC employees for the benefit of the government,” the newspaper writes.
