Anomalously Warm Weather Established in Northern Siberia
Anomalously warm weather has been established in northern Siberia, reports Levon Azizyan, the director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.
At a latitude of 73°N, the temperature reached +21°C around noon today. In the village of Karauil, located 75 km north of Norilsk, the thermometer rose to +24.3°C, which exceeds yesterday's record by almost 3 degrees.
In a region where cold winters dominate for most of the year, such heat becomes an unprecedented phenomenon and indicates a deepening of climate change.
