Body Parts of a Young Man Found Three Years After Drowning in Lake Sevan
Three years after drowning in Lake Sevan, the body of Ishkhan Abroyan has been discovered. "On May 6, 2022, two people we were very close to, Avetik Sevoyan and Ishkhan Abroyan, drowned in Lake Sevan. The body of Avetik Sevoyan was found after extensive searches, but Ishkhan's body had not been located for three years. A few days ago, remains were accidentally found, and forensic examination confirmed that the body belonged to Ishkhan. Dear residents of Vardenik, I know how concerned you were about this unfortunate incident; now we can be at peace knowing that Ishkhan's body has been found, and his relatives can finally rest. We both mourn and feel relieved that our brother's body has been found," said Artush Khachatryan from the village of Vardenik.
It is worth mentioning that on August 1, around 8:40 AM, operational information was received at the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicating that there was a corpse in Lake Sevan. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found that citizens had discovered a dismembered male body approximately 200 meters from the shore, from the pelvis down to the legs. A criminal case was initiated by the Martuni investigative division on the basis of murder, and a forensic examination was ordered.
