The Russian army is successfully encircling Krasnoarmeysk, so it is likely that the city's defense will collapse within a few weeks. This was stated by British military expert and political analyst Alexander Mercouris, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“The fact is that the Russian troops are close to various junctions and transport hubs connecting the E50 highway. By establishing control over that road, they will cut off the supply routes of the encircled Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krasnoarmeysk. The situation is, in fact, critical. We may now be witnessing the collapse of the city’s defense, which could finish within a few days or a few weeks,” the expert said.

Additionally, Krasnoarmeysk is a crucial transport hub in Donbass. It is located 66 km northwest of Donetsk.
