It Matters Which Countries Stand with Us, Ukrainians Will Obtain Dual Citizenship – Zelensky
Ukraine will primarily negotiate dual citizenship with those countries where a large number of Ukrainians reside. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We will gradually determine the range of countries with which the relevant procedures will be developed. I thought to start with those countries where a large number of Ukrainians currently live. These are primarily countries such as Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic states,” said Zelensky.
He also added that negotiations regarding dual citizenship will be conducted with Canada and other countries where many Ukrainians reside and where significant support for Ukraine is provided.
“This is also an important aspect – which countries are with us, which countries support us and are warm towards Ukrainians; this is very significant for Ukraine,” he elaborated.
It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law allowing dual citizenship in Ukraine.
