Syria's Foreign Ministry on Iran-aligned Groups in the Country
Syrian intelligence services have reported no information regarding the activities of Iran-aligned radical groups within the territory of the Arab Republic. This was stated by Kutaiba Idlibi, a representative of Syria's Foreign Ministry, in an interview with Al Arabiya television.
“We do not have any specific intelligence regarding these activities,” he said.
The representative of Syria's Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of international cooperation with the country’s new government to assess such threats and prevent possible violations of Syria's sovereignty.
It is noteworthy that earlier the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that a nighttime inspection had been carried out in Syrian territory, resulting in the detention of a group of radicals suspected of connections to Iran. Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had demanded a “complete demilitarization” of southern Syria and stated that no armed groups would be allowed to have a presence there.
