Zakharova on Possible Peace and Russia's Positions
Russia continues to develop a memorandum regarding the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, which will also include the timeframe for signing a peace treaty. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, according to TASS.
“Russia is continuing to work on a draft memorandum regarding a future peace treaty, which outlines a number of positions such as the principles of resolution, possible deadlines for the peace treaty, and a potential truce for a specific period. If, of course, I emphasize, appropriate agreements are reached,” Zakharova said, adding that the document will be transferred to the Ukrainian side as soon as it is ready.
The diplomat also noted that Ukraine is conducting similar work and is preparing its proposals, which it intends to send simultaneously with the receipt of the Russian memorandum.
Moreover, Zakharova expressed concern regarding the actions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who, according to her, is trying to complicate the peace process by demanding to tighten sanctions against Russia and increase arms supplies.
