Moscow's Task is to Achieve This: Putin's Assistant
The Russian delegation considers the negotiations with Kyiv in Istanbul as a continuation of the peace process interrupted in 2022. This was stated by Vladimir Medinsky, assistant to the President of Russia and head of the Russian delegation in Istanbul.
“Moscow's task is to achieve lasting peace by eliminating the root causes of the conflict,” he added, noting that his delegation has been approved by the President of the Russian Federation and has full authority to conduct negotiations.
It is worth mentioning that President Vladimir Putin approved the composition of the delegation for negotiations with Ukraine late yesterday evening. In addition to Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the negotiating group, the delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Head of the Main Operational Directorate Igor Kostyukov, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin, as well as several experts.
