Tensions Rise Between India and Pakistan, Says Pakistan's Foreign Ministry
Tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, but several diplomatic channels are working between Islamabad and New Delhi. This was announced by Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“In the last 24 hours, numerous diplomatic channels have been activated. Yes, it is evident that the situation is escalating between the two countries, and this cannot be denied; however, several diplomatic avenues are still operational,” said the minister.
The agency’s interlocutor noted that despite recent conversations between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, as well as India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the situation between Islamabad and New Delhi remains tense.
It should be noted that tensions between India and Pakistan flared up after a terrorist attack near Pahalgam in India’s Jammu and Kashmir region on April 22. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by a group known as the 'Resistance Front,' which is linked to the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba in Russia. The attack resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and one Nepali.
