Zero Tolerance for Violence: Avanesyan
There must be zero tolerance for violence, regardless of who the perpetrator is and against whom the violence has occurred. This was stated by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan.
Addressing incidents of violence against doctors, the minister mentioned that changes should be made concerning the equipping of ambulances. “We are already discussing the issue of installing cameras on ambulances so that we have a more general picture regarding both the compromises and other issues. Additionally, we need to discuss with the professional community what experiences exist regarding self-defense measures for staff, and what resources we can provide,” the minister announced.
She added that there is no need for a police vehicle to accompany the ambulance, as this may induce additional anxiety among the people. “We will explore other formats and summarize the findings within the next month,” Avanesyan said.
