India Stops Water Flow from Indus River to Pakistan, Violating Historical Agreement
India has halted the supply of water from the Indus River towards Pakistan for the first time since the signing of a historical treaty regarding the Indus waters in 1960, closing all four water dams. This is reported by ANI News and shared by Lenta.ru.
Pakistani authorities have stated that the blockade of Indus waters is regarded as an 'act of war' and intend to respond by all possible means. Earlier, a terrorist incident occurred in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir. New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting terrorist activities, which Pakistan completely denies.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan's Ministry of Defense has declared that the country is ready for armed confrontation with India. Previously, it was reported that India would expel all Pakistani citizens currently in the country under the SAARC visa system within 48 hours.
