Zelensky Issues Statement
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Kyiv is prepared to respond 'in kind' to any actions by Russia during the Easter ceasefire. He made this announcement on his Telegram channel.
Zelensky emphasized that if Russia truly maintains a full and unconditional ceasefire regime, Ukraine will reciprocate in the same manner. 'Silence in response to silence, strikes as a defense to strikes,' noted the President of Ukraine.
He added that 'if there is indeed complete silence,' Ukraine will propose to extend the ceasefire beyond Easter. The president mentioned that a 30-hour ceasefire is only sufficient for the headlines, while a 30-day period could provide a real opportunity to build trust and establish peace.
'Thirty days could give peace a chance,' emphasized Zelensky.
