Ukrainian Armed Forces Ordered to Cease Fire: BBC
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received orders to cease fire and document violations of the truce. This was reported by the BBC, citing a military source in Ukraine.
A source from the BBC, identified as a senior officer, stated that he and his units were instructed to stop shelling Russian positions shortly after 6 PM. The military is also required to gather photographic and video evidence proving that the adversary has not halted military operations. If necessary, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will return fire.
On April 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire for Easter during a meeting with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov. At the request of the state leader, the Russian side will cease all military operations from April 19 at 6:00 PM until April 21 at midnight. In announcing the Easter ceasefire, Putin indicated that Russia expects Ukraine to follow suit and cease military actions.
