US Plans to Deport Up to 1 Million Immigrants in One Year
The US authorities plan to deport up to 1 million immigrants within a year. According to the Washington Post, the US government is preparing to strengthen immigration control with the aim of deporting around 1 million illegal immigrants over the next twelve months.
If the plan is implemented, the US will surpass the historical maximum record set during former President Barack Obama’s administration, when around 400,000 people were deported in a single year. This new initiative would more than double that figure.
Currently, there are over 11 million illegal immigrants living in the United States. Analysts indicate that such a massive action would create significant tensions both in the immigration system and within the political landscape, raising numerous legal, economic, and humanitarian issues.
