Details Regarding the Incident of a Journalist Striking a Citizen
Recently, a journalist and cameraman from "TV 5" clashed with a citizen over the refusal to conduct an interview, resulting in injuries to the latter. This information was reported by "Armenian Time" referring to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"On March 13, at 15:35, the operational management center of the Police received a report from a hospital that an ambulance had transported a 55-year-old man with a 'laceration to the head' diagnosis from the vicinity of a supermarket on Komitas Boulevard," the newspaper wrote.
From the management of "5th Channel," it was stated to Auroranews that the journalist has been attributed with an act that he did not commit: "The young female journalist did not strike anyone. Our footage shows that immediately after the citizen's offensive demand for her not to film, the camera was turned off, but the aggressively minded citizen began to hurl personal, coarse insults at the two members of the filming crew. Our employees present at the scene consider the act to be a deliberate provocation, from which, unfortunately, it was not possible to defend ourselves. The reports prepared are said to have been submitted to the preliminary investigation body. Our lawyers are addressing this issue, and we hope the investigation will provide answers to all questions," the television channel stated.
