Tsarukyan on Sustained Injury and Withdrawal from Fight
Arman Tsarukyan has revealed how he sustained a back injury and subsequently withdrew from the title fight against Islam Makhachev.
“Everything was going well, but on the last day, after training, I went to sleep and started feeling pain in the lower part of my back. Because of that, I couldn’t sleep at all throughout the night. The next day I thought everything would be fine, and after the press conference, I started cutting weight. I was training on the bike when my back seized up, and I couldn’t move,” Tsarukyan told insider Ariel Helwani.
He was compelled to withdraw from the anticipated matchup, and Makhachev ended up fighting Brazilian Renato Moicano, who successfully defended his title.
