Azerbaijani Aircraft Shot Down by Russian Armed Forces and Diverted to Kazakhstan: Details
An Azerbaijani aircraft flying from Baku to Grozny has been shot down by a Russian surface-to-air missile system and diverted to Kazakhstan instead of making an emergency landing in Grozny. This information was reported by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
It is recalled that on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 aircraft crashed and caught fire near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, while on a flight from Baku to Grozny. The accident occurred in the vicinity of the airport. The aircraft had 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board. According to the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, 32 people survived.
