After Meeting with Putin, Pashinyan Shares New Details; Conversations to Continue in Moscow

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has released a video message after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek, discussing the outcomes of the negotiations and the future of Armenian-Russian relations.

Pashinyan described the meeting as “very good” and announced that he and Putin agreed to continue their discussions during his upcoming visit to Moscow.

“I had a very good meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and we agreed to continue our candid and constructive dialogue during my forthcoming visit to Moscow,” stated the Prime Minister.

According to Pashinyan, relations between Armenia and Russia are of utmost importance for both countries, and the Armenian side treats these relations with great care. At the same time, he highlighted the need to reshape Armenian-Russian relations under the new conditions created.

“In the new environment and under new conditions, it is necessary to reshape these relations, and as a result of that reshaping, I am convinced that the relationships will be better, more constructive, more mutually beneficial, and warmer,” Pashinyan emphasized.

Earlier, during the open part of the Pashinyan-Putin meeting in Bishkek, the two sides also discussed Armenia's process of joining the EU and the issue of the country's membership in the EAEU. During the discussion, Pashinyan and Putin expressed differing views on the law adopted in Armenia on the commencement of the EU membership process and its compatibility with the EAEU.
