Yamal Breaks Long-standing Record in Spanish Football
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has set a new record in Spanish professional football. In the third round of La Liga, during a home match against Rayo Vallecano, which ended in a 5-2 victory for the Catalans, Yamal scored a double, bringing his career goals to 52.
According to the statistical resource MisterChip, Yamal has become the youngest player in the history of Spanish professional football to cross the 50-goal mark. He achieved this milestone at the age of 19 years and 49 days.
The previous record was held by Real Madrid legend Raúl González, who reached the 50-goal mark at the age of 19 years and 249 days. Fernando Torres comes in third, achieving it at 20 years and 221 days.
Yamal has been playing in Barcelona's first team since 2023. This season, he has participated in three matches and scored two goals. In the 2025/26 season, the winger played 45 matches, scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists.
