Meeting Between Pashinyan and Putin: What the Russian President Said
The aspiration of Armenia to join the European Union is the country's legitimate right; however, this process creates certain difficulties, including in the context of Armenia's membership in the EAEU. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
President Putin also addressed the economic indicators related to Armenia's membership in the EAEU. According to him, since joining the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia's GDP has tripled, while the volume of Armenian exports to EAEU member countries has increased tenfold.
He further emphasized that Russia continues to remain Armenia's main economic partner. According to Putin's data, the trade turnover between Armenia and Russia has reached 2.5 billion dollars since the beginning of 2026.
