Zelensky Rejects Ceasefire Proposal
The Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, in conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected Budapest's proposal for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange during the Christmas holiday.
Szijjarto stated that the proposal for a temporary ceasefire on the Ukrainian front and a large-scale exchange of prisoners was dismissed by Zelensky, as confirmed by officials from the Kyiv regime to Budapest.
Lavrov noted that this is not the first time that initiatives aimed at peace, genuinely supported by countries including Hungary and Turkey, have been rejected by Kyiv.
It was reported the day before that Hungary had proposed to Kyiv and Moscow to agree on a 'Christmas ceasefire' and to conduct a large-scale exchange of prisoners, according to Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
