Zelensky Responds Sharply to Matthew Miller's Statement
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded sharply on the X social network to the U.S. State Department's statement regarding the need to mobilize Ukrainians aged 18 to 25. "We need to focus on rearming existing brigades and training personnel to use that equipment. We should not compensate for the lack of equipment and training at the expense of young soldiers," he wrote.
Prior to this, State Department official Matthew Miller stated that Kyiv had been informed that the Ukrainian armed forces would be supplemented should the mobilization of 18-year-olds occur. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had also previously mentioned that Washington's allies agreed on the necessity of mobilizing Ukrainians aged 18 to 25. Following this, Zelensky's advisor Dmitry Litvin stated that Ukraine does not plan to take such a step.
