Syrian Prime Minister Announces End of Transition Period
The opposition-appointed Prime Minister of the Syrian Interim Government, Mohammad al-Bashir, has announced that the transition period in the country could conclude on March 1. Al-Bashir is closely associated with the leader of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham group, Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and other countries.
The 43-year-old Mohammad al-Bashir was born in the Idlib province of Syria. In January 2024, he was appointed as the head of the 'Syrian Salvation Government,' established by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham in Idlib. Previously, he served as the Minister of Development and Humanitarian Affairs.
