Emergency Response: Rainwater Floods Homes, Reports Ministry of Internal Affairs
Due to weather conditions, from October 17 to 18, emergency service units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have conducted intensified operations throughout the territory of the Republic.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that since 18:00 on October 17, observations have been carried out in Yerevan, all provinces of Armenia, along riverbanks, and other hazardous areas at two-hour intervals.
As a result of heavy rainfall, five incidents have been recorded in the Ministry of Internal Affairs emergency services. Responding promptly to the alerts, emergency responders carried out several necessary operations.
Specifically, in response to roof renovation work at 31 Khanzhyan Street in Yerevan, the aerial ladder from Fire and Rescue Unit No. 8 went to the scene to provide assistance.
At the additional building located at 49 Shiraz Street, the on-duty team of the Central Emergency Management Department carried out water drainage works. Near 26/13 in the 2nd district of Davtashen administrative area, rescuers retrieved a blocked vehicle from a rainwater accumulation pit.
In the city of Hrazdan in Kotayk province and in the village of Getapnya in Ararat province, firefighters and rescuers have conducted operations to remove rainwater from homes and basements, aiming to mitigate damage caused by adverse weather conditions.
