We must always remember that the Yerevan Municipality has no obligations in these programs; this is a manifestation of goodwill and a solution to the issue of the safety of Yerevan residents. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a council meeting, addressing the concerns of residents living in 4th category emergency buildings on Arzumanyan Street.

"The residents are opposed to this process; we are talking about a building with a 4th category risk, which could collapse at any moment. It is certain that it will collapse. The value of those apartments is nearly zero, and for apartments with zero value, the Yerevan Municipality has designed a program to compensate residents with rent payments. Following that, valuable apartments will be provided to the same residents in a newly constructed building on the same site," he said.

Avinyan also noted that if the process is delayed, the municipality may completely abandon the program.
