The Death Toll from Pager Explosions in Lebanon Rises
The death toll from pager explosions in various locations in Lebanon has reached 12. This was announced to reporters by the Minister of Health of the Lebanese interim government, Firas Abiad, as reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, there were reports of 8 fatalities and more than 2,800 injured. It was noted that one of the victims of the explosions was the son of a parliamentary member of the "Hezbollah" organization, and among the injured is the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani. Amani's life is not in danger.
"The explosions of pagers in Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of 12 people, including a child," Abiad stated.
The mass explosion of pagers occurred on September 17 in Beirut and other regions of Lebanon. The authorities of the country have placed the responsibility for the incident on Israel. According to media reports, the cyber attack was organized by an agent of the Israeli intelligence services, Mahshir Keshar, who has previously conducted various operations aimed at disrupting Hezbollah's logistics pathways.
