"We Need to Introduce Electric-Powered Aircraft for the Regions" - Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, spoke about the operation of electric-powered aircraft in Jermuk. He emphasized the importance of introducing such aircraft for inter-regional transportation. "I am confident that if not now, in a few years, we will see serial production starting. They will have a capacity of 10-12 seats," he stated, adding that a boom for such aircraft is expected in Armenia. "Electric planes require 50 meters for takeoff and 30 meters for landing," he remarked.
The Prime Minister instructed to establish contact with the relevant company, stating, "We have airports in Sisian, Jermuk, Shinuhayr, Gavar, and Stepanavan. If this is true, we will need not 500 meters of runway, but only 100 meters. This means we can construct four takeoff runways at the cost of a standard airport runway." He added that there is an opportunity to get ahead of the process and instructed to synchronize actions.
