Vanadzor's Chief Architect Arrested
Today, Vanadzor's chief architect Suren Abovyan was arrested for two months. The situation regarding Bagrat Darbinyan, the owner of the 'Gloria' garment factory, and four other individuals who were arrested yesterday in connection to the same case remains unclear.
Yesterday, Azatutyun reported that Bagrat Darbinyan, the owner of Armenia's largest garment factory 'Gloria', and Vanadzor's chief architect Suren Abovyan were detained after several hours of searches conducted in their offices.
The Anti-Corruption Committee has not yet disclosed details regarding the criminal proceedings. It is only known to Azatutyun that the detained officials are suspected of facilitating and executing illegal construction permits.
