I Hope It Happens as Soon as Possible: Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan
Moscow expects a swift peace to be established between Yerevan and Baku, which would be an important step towards establishing stable peace in the South Caucasus. This was stated by Mikhail Evdokimov, Russia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, judging by the official statements of the Azerbaijani and Armenian authorities, the draft peace agreement between the countries is nearly finalized.
“As emphasized by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his state visit, Moscow would be happy to contribute to the signing of this agreement. I hope it will happen as soon as possible, as it would be a crucial step towards achieving stable peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus,” the Russian diplomat stated.
