Paris 2024: Andranik Karapetyan Finishes 7th. Who Is the Olympic Champion?

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, weightlifter Andranik Karapetyan secured 7th place with a total lift of 370 kg.

In the snatch event, Karapetyan successfully lifted 170 kg on his first attempt. For the second attempt, 175 kg was requested, but he was unable to secure the lift overhead. On the third attempt, he aimed for 177 kg. Although Karapetyan managed to hold the 177 kg overhead, the judges did not register the lift.

In the clean and jerk event, he started with a request for 200 kg, successfully lifting it overhead. In his second attempt, our weightlifter attempted a 10 kg increase but could not secure the lift overhead. For his third attempt, Andranik Karapetyan aimed for 215 kg but again failed to hold it aloft.

The Olympic champion is Carlos Nasar from Bulgaria, who holds a world record of 404 kg and is a double European champion.
