Cement-laden Kamaz Crashes into Rock and Overturns, Driver Dies on the Spot
Today, on June 23, a major and tragic traffic accident occurred in the Syunik region. Around 16:00, 41-year-old Mikael Hovhannisyan, a resident of Syunik, was driving a Kamaz truck loaded with cement on the Makhmur-Yerevan highway at the 54 km mark when, under still unknown circumstances, he veered off the roadway to the left, collided with rocks, and overturned.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver died on the spot due to the accident. A firefighting and rescue unit consisting of a combat crew from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia's Rescue Service arrived at the scene, led by the regional director and the commander of the Kapan firefighting and rescue team.
