Trump's Statement on Russia Raises Alarm in the EU and the U.S.: The Washington Post
Former U.S. President Donald Trump poses a threat to the EU and the United States with his statements regarding Russia. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing RIA Novosti.
“Trump’s comments encouraging Russia to do whatever it wants with our European allies are among the most alarming and dangerous statements made by a leading presidential candidate of a major party. His position presents a clear and real threat to U.S. and European security,” said Tom Donilon, a former national security advisor to President Barack Obama.
He added that Trump’s inexplicable and remarkable relationship with Putin, as well as his unprecedented hostility towards NATO, do not inspire confidence in Europe and Ukraine.
In February, Trump stated that he would not intervene if Russia decided to attack NATO countries that refused to meet their financial obligations to the alliance.
