Citizen Trapped Under Soil and Debris in Gegharkunik Province
On May 31, an emergency incident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. Around 16:25, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a call reporting that a citizen was trapped under the debris of a collapsed barn adjacent to a house in the village of Zovasar. Rescuers were requested to help in freeing the individual.
According to Shamshyan.com, it was determined that the earthen roof of the barn belonging to 68-year-old Agvan T. from the same village had completely collapsed, leaving him partially trapped under the soil and debris. Under the leadership of Commander Khachatryan, rescuers and patrol officers led by N. Grigoryan, along with villagers, managed to extract the injured man from the rubble, who was then transported to the Martuni Medical Center. Doctors assessed his condition as moderately severe.
The police department in Martuni has initiated documentation related to the incident, which may be forwarded to the Investigative Committee’s Martuni investigative unit in Gegharkunik Province. The source also reports that before the arrival of the rescuers and police, villagers attempted to remove the injured man from under the debris.
