Potential Costs for Israel to Repel Iranian Attack in One Night
Ram Aminakh, a former financial advisor to the chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces and a reserve brigadier general, has stated that the cost of defense during an Iranian assault could reach between $1 billion and $1.3 billion within one night, mainly due to the interception of hundreds of missiles and drones. The total expenditure on defense is reported to be around 4 to 5 billion Israeli shekels, according to RIA Novosti.
Iran has launched over 300 objects towards Israel, including about 170 drones, more than 30 cruise missiles, and over 120 ballistic missiles. The Israeli Air Force and air defense, in cooperation with partners, managed to intercept 99% of the targets; however, some still landed within the country, causing only minor damage to a military base located in southern Israel.
It is noted that Iran has claimed it is striking Israeli territory in retaliation for the shelling of its consulate in Syria in early April.
