Iran Plans to Strike Israel Within the Next 48 Hours
Iran plans to strike Israel within the next 48 hours, according to the Israelinfo newspaper.
According to the report, the attack will be a response to Israeli military airstrikes on the Iranian consulate in Syria. Current and former U.S. officials are concerned that this situation could escalate into a new phase of conflict. Ralph Gough, a former senior CIA officer who served in the Middle East, described the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate as 'incredibly reckless.' He believes that any Iranian retaliation could put American troops in the region at risk.
As noted by Voxnews, Tehran is expected to deploy hundreds of drones and missiles. It has also been reported that Israeli forces have been placed on high alert, and there are issues with GPS signals in the area.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian called on the UN Security Council to respond appropriately and clearly to Israel's strike on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital. He reminded that the UN bears responsibility for maintaining peace and security.
On April 1, Israel struck a building near the Iranian embassy in Damascus. According to sources from the Iranian Tasnim news agency, six people were killed in the attack.
