Macron Criticizes Israel
French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday. Expressing solidarity with Israel and reiterating France's call for the release of hostages held by Hamas, Macron emphasized the importance of establishing an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and expressed concern over Israeli actions at Al-Shifa hospital.
Macron again stated his disagreement with military operations in Rafah. He noted that any forced displacement of the Gaza population would constitute a war crime under international law and that Gaza's future lies within the framework of a Palestinian state, under the responsibility of the Palestinian administration.
