Group Behind Moscow Attacks Attempted Actions in France as Well: Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday that Russia has become a victim of the "Islamic State" terrorist group's attack, and that the group behind the events in Moscow has also recently attempted several actions in France. This was reported by alarabiya.net.
"This group has also attempted several actions in our territory," Macron told reporters during a visit to French Guiana.
It is noteworthy that the French government has raised the terrorist threat level in the country to the highest alert in connection with the bombing that took place at the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, as announced by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
The decision was made during a meeting of the National Defense and Security Council held at the Élysée Palace, convened by President Emmanuel Macron.
"Considering the fact that the ‘Islamic State’ has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the threats facing our country, we have decided to raise the level of the terrorist threat to the highest level: ‘urgent attack threat’," Attal wrote on the X social network.
It should be recalled that as of the latest reports, 133 people, including children, have died as a result of the bombing that occurred on the evening of March 22 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow. Among the victims was also a citizen of Armenia. Following the terrorist attack, March 24 has been declared a national day of mourning in Russia in memory of the victims.
