20 Packages of Drugs Found in Shoes of Visitor to Convict at Sevan Penitentiary
On March 13, the operatives of the Central Body of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, acting on information about the illegal transfer of drugs and prohibited items to one of the convicts, conducted a personal search of citizen H.B., who came to visit convict H.H.
As a result, 20 packages with suspicious contents wrapped in adhesive tape were found under the insoles of the citizen's sports shoes. Upon inspection of the packages, it was discovered that they contained a total of 8.7 grams of a brown substance resembling opium, noted for its distinct sharp odor, and 10.3 grams of crystalline substances resembling methamphetamine. Additionally, 14.3 grams in total weight of a greenish, plant-based substance resembling marijuana was also found.
Citizen H.B. was arrested by the operatives of the facility and presented along with the discovered packages to the Investigative Department of Kotayk Province of the RA Investigative Committee.
