Blinken: Putin May Somehow Survive Longer Than Us
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken believes that without Congress approving additional aid to Kyiv, all of Ukraine's successes achieved with Western support will be at risk. The foreign policy chief made this statement alongside NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a press conference in Washington on Monday.
"It is critically important for Congress to approve the additional funding request put forward by President Joe Biden to ensure Ukraine's success and Russia's strategic defeat. In simple terms, without this additional funding, everything the Ukrainians have achieved, which we have helped them to achieve, will be under threat," the Secretary stated.
"Without that request, we will send a very powerful wrong signal to all our adversaries that we are not serious about the defense of freedom and democracy. And that will be an affirmation for Vladimir Putin that he may somehow survive longer than Ukraine and longer than us. That cannot happen. We must do everything to ensure that it does not happen," Blinken stressed.
