Cultural Heritage Preservation in Artsakh is on Our Agenda: Kostanyan
The issue of cultural heritage preservation in Artsakh is on the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan in response to journalists' questions.
Azerbaijan regularly desecrates, damages, and destroys various cultural heritage sites in Artsakh. "Naturally, the issue of cultural heritage preservation in Artsakh is on our agenda. It is addressed both in the executive body of UNESCO and in other relevant departments," said Kostanyan.
According to him, in December 2020, a decision was made by the executive board of UNESCO to send a mission to Artsakh to observe the situation on the ground regarding the condition of cultural heritage sites. Kostanyan noted that they are continuously working to ensure that the mission takes place.
