The War Between Russia and Ukraine has Reached a Stalemate, Says German Defense Minister
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has stated that the fighting in Ukraine has "virtually entered a stalemate." According to him, neither the Russian nor the Ukrainian side can make any advances. This was reported by Kommersant.ru.
"The gain of Russian territory is negligible considering the significant, almost inhuman efforts that Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin) exerts especially in the eastern regions. Therefore, I would be cautious in making predictions. The situation has, in fact, reached a stalemate. There are no victories on the ground from either side. However, the Ukrainians continue to defend very successfully, especially in the south and east of the country," Pistorius said in an interview with Bild.
Bild journalists also asked the defense minister to comment on the supply of ammunition to the Ukrainian army. Boris Pistorius noted that despite significant industrial progress, the sector is still operating in a "pre-war mode." At the same time, he indicated that Germany and Ukraine have already signed contracts for the supply of more than 200,000 artillery ammunition. "We will continue to move forward," Pistorius concluded.
