Houthis Launch Operation Against US Navy Vessels
The Houthi movement, known as 'Ansar Allah' in Yemen, has conducted a military operation in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait against US Navy vessels that were protecting commercial ships. This was announced by the Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea.
According to a statement posted on their Telegram channel, 'The result of the operation was a direct hit on a warship, forcing two American commercial ships to retreat and return.' The confrontation reportedly lasted over two hours, with the Houthis deploying ballistic missiles, some of which reached their targets.
Previously, the US Central Command reported the interception of two Houthi missiles during a fresh attack in Yemen. According to CENTCOM, these missiles posed a threat to civilian vessels and were destroyed as a defensive measure.
